Canada Games ID Camp

26 April 2024 by Braden Ahern

On April 7th 2024 I attended the New Brunswick Canada Games ID Camp.

This invite was sent to all of the best golfers in the province to get the chance to demonstrate our skills through various different skills.

First we started by testing ourselves physically by throwing medicine balls in different positions, testing our grip strength, testing our vertical and long jumps, and testing our balance on both feet.

After this the group had a break to eat some food and go over a few things to think about when playing a round of golf.

Carrie Vaughan and Jean- Francois Richard who are the two provincial coaches in New Brunswick, went over how to properly use pin sheets and develop strategies based on where the pins were.

Later we went back out to the practice facility and we did a trackman test for our wedges, irons, and drivers. To finish off the day we did a putting test and a chipping test as well. Overall i think it was a great time because it helped me understand where my game really is and also shows me what i need to work on. Below i have linked a picture we took after the day.
