Next Level U Statement
I’m interested in playing softball at a 4 year institution, while either getting teaching education, or human kinetics. I like to be vocal, so I would love to play for a high energy team, but at the same time, learning the game and becoming the best I can be. I’m a strong infielder, but my goal is to learn to play all positions at a high level. I want to continue to improve both defensively and offensively to help a team win.

Player Style:
High Energy, Vocal, Encouraging, Leader that can help keep a team focused while still having fun. High Goals while still being realistic, positive mindset and always looking to learn. Always training hard in and out of practices and making adjustments to my play to be my best.
Player Strengths:
Strong infielder with a good arm and good range. I demonstrate my defensive abilities in multiple ways, if it’s turning a double play or making a relay, or even just covering a bag I’m always moving and contributing to the play so we can get our outs.
Good teammate who is always encouraging, unselfish and never disappointed in others, only happy for them. I understand that different people want different types of encouragement, if it’s being loud and cheering for them, or having a quiet individual conversation I’ll always be there for friends.
Vocal leader, whether it’s discussing the play or chatting with teammates about certain situations I’m always talking. During teammates at bats you can always see me at the fence cheering my heart out for them and helping them stay confident in the box. After an error, I’m still loud and positive towards teammates. Errors allow us to make cooler plays, so I never give negative looks, I only talk to them, help them shake it and move on so they can help us get the next out.
Consistent hitter who’s usually a line drive hitter, but in big moments I love to be at the plate and drive in clutch runs. Even with an 0-2 count with 2 outs I stay confident in my abilities and I give my all to keep our team in it. As much as I love to hit, I still stay contained and disciplined. I have a great eye and I look for pitches that I can hit hard. Unfortunately, I also have a great HBP average too, but I’ll always take a free pass.
A coachable player who always wants criticism to improve my game. I can take it straight and never am afraid of hearing the worst. If there’s anything I can work on, I want to know, I love hearing and talking about my mistakes because it helps me change and become a better athlete.
An athletic person who loves the game. While playing multiple sports isn’t for all, I certainly love it. I play provincial level basketball and it helps keep me prepared for everything. Basketball has really helped me with the shots through a gap, where I can hustle and just barely make a play on it. Being a high school volleyball player has helped me jump a lot higher which also allows me to get the line drives that are almost over my head, but being an all around athlete has helped me make more plays than I ever thought I could. Even badminton has helped me, at the plate having good hand eye coordination is key to my hitting.
A smart player who’s ready for anything. I think three plays ahead and am always ready for the upcoming play. I’m always picking up small but important information. After at bats I often will tell the on deck batter what I saw to help them. Or I’ll watch the opponents warm up and read what different hitters like to swing at or how they hit and it helps me adjust my defence so that we’re prepared. Having an edge on the other team always helps, and I want all my teammates to know what I’ve learned so being loud is very crucial.
