Next Level U Statement
My academic goal is to attend university and pursue a career in education through teachers college. I am passionate about learning and helping others, and I aspire to become a teacher who inspires students both in and out of the classroom.
Athletically, I aim to compete at the next level in softball as a dedicated catcher. I thrive in high-pressure situations and take pride in being a leader on and off the field. I bring positive energy to the bench, lead by example through focus and hard work, and strive to make a difference for my team every game. Softball has given me lifelong friendships, and continuing to grow as a player while creating those meaningful connections is an important part of my journey as a student-athlete.

Primarily a catcher, but am happy to be a utility player, capable of playing all positions, pitcher included.
Player Style:
High-energy catcher and aggressive base runner who thrives in high-pressure moments. Commands the game from behind the plate with strong defensive skills, game awareness, and leadership on and off the field. Combines hustle, competitive drive, and a team-first mentality to bring positive focus and intensity to every game.

The only team I play on that assigns captains is hockey and I have been an Assistant Captain three years in a row for the Lindsay Lynx teams I’ve been on.

Awarded the “Rising Red Hawk” award at Haliburton Highlands Secondary School for her Grade 10 year. Awarded by Mrs. Janice Scheffee, with this as her speech. “
The Rising Red Hawk Award recognizes junior athletes in their grade 9 or 10 year that exhibit qualities of excellence in performance, leadership, coachability and perseverance in sport. This award can only be awarded once to an individual.
This year’s Rising Red Hawk recipients demonstrate all of these qualities to the best of their ability. They come to practice committed to improve, to work hard and to lead by example. During competition they can be counted on to perform and to raise the level of play for those around them. They are positive, supportive of their teammates and they push themselves to be the best they can be.
Our first Rising Red Hawk has competed in golf, volleyball, badminton and soccer this year. They were a Kawartha Champion on both the Junior Girls Volleyball team and the Varsity Girls Soccer team and they captured a silver medal at COSSA in mixed doubles badminton. Congratulations to Hailey Smith.”
