Next Level U Statement
I am interested in playing volleyball at a four-year institution while pursuing a science degree and working toward my long-term goal of becoming a doctor. I am committed to excelling both academically and athletically, and I strive to maintain a strong work ethic in the classroom and on the court. As a setter, I take pride in being a leader, communicating effectively with my teammates, and helping create opportunities for my team to succeed. I aim to compete at a high level while maintaining a positive attitude, supporting those around me, and continuously improving as both a player and a person. I hope to contribute to a program through my leadership, dedication, coachability, and passion for the game.

As a setter, I play an extremely strategic and high IQ game. I am always analyzing the opposing blockers and defenders, and identifying the best opportunities for my hitters to be as successful as possible. I focus on making smart decisions under pressure and adapting my choices based on the flow of the game. I work hard to distribute the ball where necessary, keep my attackers involved, and create an effective offense that is difficult for the opponents to predict.
I am always engaged in every rally and ready to contribute in multiple different ways, whether that is setting, tipping, dumping, attacking, blocking, or playing defense. I take pride in being a vocal leader on the court, communicating with my teammates and helping maintain a positive environment on the court.
My biggest strength is my ability to read the game and make quick decisions under pressure as a setter. I am able to be aware of the other side of the court and adjust my sets based on the blockers, defenders, and what my hitters need. I always communicate with my teammates and work hard to keep everyone involved in the offense.
I am a consistent setter who stays calm in pressure situations and always competes for every point. I am also a strong teammate who brings energy to the court and supports my teammates around me. In addition to setting, I can contribute through defense, serving, and being an aggressive option at the net with tips, dumps and attacking when the opportunity is there.
I try to lead by example through my work ethic, attitude, and through the way I support my teammates. One of the biggest parts of being an affective and engaged setter is through communication, and I enjoy helping keep my team organized and encouraging my teammates on and off the court. I am always positive, I always work hard, and try my best to someone my teammates can rely on.
Outside of my volleyball experience, I have volunteered with the Mini Volleyball through Junior Bisons, helping coach and work with younger volleyball players. I enjoyed teaching basic skills, encouraging the athletes, and helping them work on their confidence and love for the sport. This experience really helped me grow as a leader and showed me the importance of being a positive role model for younger players.
