Player Style:

I am a confident player who is very enthusiastic about the game and all that it entails. What I enjoy most about volleyball is how it can bring people together while keeping a competitive nature. Some of my best friends that I ahve now, I made through the sport. In the past years I would have described myself as more of a quieter player, but now having my second club season under my belt, feel alot more confidence on the court, which made me a lot more talkative while playing. As part of my drive to improve, every time I am on the court, I put all my effort into improving my skills as a player. When i’m on the court applying the skills i’ve been tought, or even when i’m listening to advice or watching a demonstration, I try to be as coachable as possible.

Player Strengths:

I would say my main strengths are my attacking and blocking. Being tall and having a decent verticle, I can get up high enough and position my body so that I get in the way of the attacker. As of right now, I would say I am more of a ball placement type of player rather than a strength driven one, however, over the course of this next year, I plan on changing that. While keeping the same smarts to be able to place the ball where no one is, I plan on working on my arm swing to improve my output power. While alot of my strengths lie in my netplay, I would also argue that my defense and IQ are other areas where I shine. I can read pretty well what the other team is planing to do during the game, and as the match goes on, I tend to grow familiar to what the setter likes to run or which player they tend to favor. As for defence, I put what I observe my liberos and outsides do in to practice when I get the chance. My long arms especially help me in reaching balls some would’nt be able to.
