Next Level U Statement
My goal has always been to compete in sport at the highest possible level. At this stage in my life, that is varsity athletics. I started pole vault in January 2026 after retiring from competitive gymnastics. With drive, determination, amazing coaches and teammates, I was able to improve my personal best by 90 centimetres (from 2.20 to 3.10m) in my first season, placing top five at outdoor provincial and top eight at indoor national championships. I am a quick learner, and believe there’s a lot further for me to go in this sport. I have an extensive athletic background, having been a gymnast for a decade. This helped me to build strength and spatial awareness, while also giving me the resilience to overcome mental blocks, difficult practices and injury. I am a very positive person and have been fortunate to have wonderful relationships with fellow athletes and coaches. These attributes also help me in school, where I hold a 4.0 GPA (97%). I aim to obtain my undergraduate degree in economics or political science.
