Grinton Brothers Lead the Way as South Colchester Academy Repeat as HS Provincial Golf Champions

9 October 2026 by Finn Grinton

In some of the toughest playing conditions of the season, the SCA High School golf team proved once again why they are the team to beat in Nova Scotia.

Battling relentless rain, soaked fairways, and challenging winds, the team captured their second consecutive Nova Scotia High School Provincial Championship.

Leading the charge was Jack Grinton, who delivered a championship-winning performance with a remarkable 71 (-1) in the single day Championship. While many competitors struggled to adapt to the miserable conditions, Grinton displayed exceptional control and composure throughout the round, becoming the individual Provincial Champion.

“The conditions were extremely difficult,” said one observer. “To shoot under par in weather like that is an incredible achievement.”

Jack’s round was highlighted by consistent ball-striking and smart course management, allowing him to separate himself from the field and bring home the individual title.

Not to be outdone, twin brother Finn Grinton also turned in an impressive performance, firing a 74 (+3) to finish 6th overall individually. Finn’s steady play provided a crucial contribution to the team’s score and helped secure the championship victory.

Together, the Grinton brothers formed one of the strongest one-two punches in the tournament, accounting for two top-six finishes against the province’s best high school golfers.

As the final scores were tallied and the rain continued to fall, the Eagles once again found themselves at the top of the standings, celebrating another banner year for the program.

With Jack Grinton claiming the individual championship at 71 (-1), Finn Grinton finishing 6th at 74 (+3), and the Eagles securing their second straight provincial team title, it was a day the players, coaches, and supporters will remember for years to come.
