Meagan Howe

Next Level U Statement

My objective is to continue developing as a student-athlete at a four-year institution, compete at the next level of women’s hockey, and pursue a degree in Kinesiology and Business. As a defenseman, I bring a dependable two-way game built on strong gap control, net-front protection, smart decisions, and purposeful breakouts. I’m also comfortable carrying the puck and joining the attack when the opportunity is right.

I currently play U18 A and have experience at U18 AA and on a Junior summer team. Representing the Philippines U18 National Team and Pilipinas Selects Women’s Team at international tournaments strengthened my game and gave me the chance to compete against older, university-level players. I hope to contribute to a university team through reliable defensive play, thoughtful puck movement, and a willingness to support the game in all three zones.

My academic interests connect to my long-term goal of opening a sport medicine and performance clinic. I’m currently in Grade 11 and completing a co-op placement at a local physiotherapy clinic, where I’m learning more about supporting athletes’ health and performance.
