Carter Thompson

Next Level U Statement

My goal is to continue playing competitive soccer at the post-secondary level while pursuing an education that allows me to explore my interests in skilled trades, business and other career opportunities.

As a versatile defender who can play centre back, fullback or wingback, I take pride in my ability to compete, read the game, win individual battles, and make a positive impact defensively. As a defender, I take pride in being difficult to play against. Whether I’m competing in a 1v1, challenging for an aerial ball or reading an opponent’s next move, I enjoy the responsibility of helping my team win possession and prevent scoring opportunities.

I believe my greatest strengths are my defensive awareness, competitiveness, athleticism, winning headers and aerial challenges, versatility and having a team-first mentality. I am committed to continuing to develop technically, physically and tactically, while bringing a strong work ethic and willingness to learn to any program I join.

I am looking for a post-secondary opportunity where I can challenge myself academically and athletically, contribute to a competitive soccer program and continue growing both as a player and as a person.
