2023 OVGA Junior City & District Championship – Recap

Started the tournament with a solid 71 (-1); showed my composure with holing out for eagle from 127 yards and making birdie on the following hole. I unfortunately did not take advantage of the par 5’s as I sometimes put myself in difficult positions in my first two shots, but ended up one behind the lead going into the final round.

Shot a very disappointing 81 to finish; I felt very relaxed all day but I made mistakes around the greens that I can’t win tournaments with. I will be sure to focus my practice on these mistakes to come back stronger for the US Junior Amateur qualifier in St. Catharine’s next week.

Game is trending in the right direction and I’m looking forward to more great golf to come!
