A strong finish to the Provincial Championship to punch my ticket to Golf Canada National Boys in August!
The Nova Scotia Provincial Championships were heldJuly 3-5th at KenWo Golf Club. It was a rain soaked event with a number of rain and thunderstorm delays. Rounds of 70-76 saw me in the final group on the final day in T2 Position. Weather on Round 3 was heavy rain and a stoppage due to thunderstorms. I made the 9 hole turn in 6th place after struggling to get the putts to the hole. The final 5 holes are the true test and I knew a strong finish would be the best shot I had at a team spot at Nationals. I battled through the last 4 holes at -2 to climb back into solo 3rd for the overall U19 Championship and a Team Spot with Nova Scotia.
I drove the golf ball well all week off the tee and gave myself lots of birdie chances. The strong finish gave me the confidence to play in high pressure situations.
This winter during my training I set the goal to make the Junior Team and through hard work and many hours of practice it happened. I can’t wait to represent Nova Scotia at Nationals as one of the youngest players in the field!
