2024 Golf Season Underway
The 2024 off season saw many gains in swing changes and physical strength. I worked with a Strength and Conditioning coach to increase jump impulse and overall strength. This has led to better eating habits and increased clubhead speed. In April I traveled to the Henry Brunton Golf Academy for 2 weeks to learn more about development and tournament golf. Made some great friends but mostly worked on more efficient driver moves and course management. It is a work in progress!
Had a Titleist club fitting and look forward to putting new clubs in the bag second week of June.
2025 saw me travel to Ontario for the NextGen at Fire Rock – firing 76-78. I missed the cut but was happy to get back out there and had some really great stretches of holes with no large numbers.
The MJT has had two tournaments in Atlantic Canada so far. In Chester I battled hard the second day to get within one of the lead but I came up short, finishing in 2nd Place. Then on to Sussex, NB where we battled the weather and rain. I carded 6 birdies and 1 eagle over the weekend. I held on to my Day 1 lead with steady play on Sunday’s back 9 to capture the title.

MJT veteran Blake Wilson, 16, from Windsor Junction, NS, soared to victory with an impressive scorecard of six birdies and an eagle, securing the coveted top spot in the MJT Junior Boys category. Wilson shared, “I trusted my swing and made sure to just stay in it mentally and keep playing hole-by-hole and not think about the end result.” His unwavering focus, especially in the intense closing stages, proved instrumental in his success. “This win gives me confidence for the rest of the tournaments,” he added, emphasizing the significance of his achievement in propelling him forward.
