Undefeated in 2022 Dallas cup

OAKVILLE – Rush Canada is pleased to announce that our U16 OPDL Boys had a great experience at the 2022 Dallas Cup in Texas, USA.

The Dallas Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments in North America. The tournament has seen some of the biggest soccer stars in the world play in the tournament. The list of alumni includes soccer legends like David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Wayne Rooney, Chicharito, Raul, Andrea Pirlo, as well as rising stars in the game like Ricardo Pepi, Alphonso Davies, Bukayo Saka, and Weston McKennie.

The U16 OPDL Boys spent a full week in Texas attending the opening ceremonies, training, playing matches and watching the Super Group fixtures. They finished the week undefeated with one win and two draws in their group stage matches, and added a further two wins in their Dallas Cup friendly games against international opponents including a team from Trinidad and Tobago. Their win and two draws left them tied for first place, however, they missed out on the quarter finals losing out on goal difference only by a single goal. Our team played some great football throughout the tournament and drew 1-1 with Las Vegas Pros, who scored a penalty kick at the end of the match to tie the game, and go on to win the Dallas Cup Final against FC Dallas.
