In the realm of sports, every second counts, every movement matters, and every detail can make the difference between victory and defeat. That’s why athletes are constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance their performance, both on and off the field. Enter See The Game, a groundbreaking sports technology company dedicated to revolutionizing the way athletes train, compete, and excel. And now, in an exciting collaboration, Next Level U Sports is proud to announce its partnership with the See The Game for the upcoming Combine Series. As a leader in sports innovation, See The Game is committed to providing athletes with cutting-edge tools and insights to take their game to the next level.
See The Game is a NeuroSport training company focused on improving visual and cognitive skills related to sports performance with the overall goal in improving sports performance. At least 80% of the sensory information used for decision making is visual (Ripley & Politzer, 2010). Since vision is so important, especially for sports, the goal of our training is to enhance the athlete’s ability to use visual information for quick and accurate decision making. Our training begins with a NeuroSport assessment, which gives us a complete visual and cognitive profile of an athlete by assessing the major skills that are correlated with sports performance. These skills include reaction time, peripheral awareness, and hand-eye coordination. With this assessment, we develop a training plan according to the areas of improvement and the visual demands of the athlete’s sport, as they can slightly differ between sports. By using the highest level of technology currently in the field for assessing and training, we can enhance the visual processing of an athlete to help improve their ability to process information on the court or field and help them to be more efficient with their use of vision. In turn, this can help improve their sports performance and reduce the risk of injury.
Our training is based on methods in the field of Sports Vision training. Research in this area has shown that visual and cognitive skills are positively correlated with sports performance in baseball, hockey, basketball, and volleyball (Poltavski & Biberdorf, 2015; Burris et al., 2018; Liu et al., 2020; Jafarzadehpur et al., 2007; Mangine et al., 2014). Research has also shown that high level athletes have a superior ability to process dynamic and complex demands in their environment (Faubert, 2013) and that this ability is trainable to improve on-field decision-making in sports such as soccer (Romeas et al.., 2016). Vision training has been found to lead to performance benefits in professional and college ice hockey (Mitroff et al., 2013; Jenerou et al., 2015) and has been shown to improve visual processing skills related to sports performance in many other sports (Liu et al., 2020; Poltavski et al., 2021), and the research is continually growing. Vision training has also been related to a reduced risk of concussion in football players with better visual and cognitive skills, as well as those who trained in Sports Vision (Clark et al., 2015). This reduction in injury risk is believed to be because of improvements to the use of the visual field and an enhanced awareness from the athletes.
See The Game is committed to bringing the highest level of training to athletes at the high school, college, and professional levels. We do this by investing time into knowledge translation of the research in this field into practice, investing in the technology and methods used by the professional teams (i.e., Senaptec Sensory Station and Strobe Glasses – used by major sports organizations such as the NHL, NFL, MLB, and UFC), and investing into primary research to progress the field of Sports Vision and NeuroSport Training. Our goal is to give the opportunity for athletes to train at the highest level and be exposed to these advanced methods before they reach the professional/elite levels, where they will be trained using these methods.”
Together, we’re not just raising the bar – we’re redefining it. Join See The Game and Next Level U Sports Combine Series in shaping the future of sports and empowering athletes to see the game in a whole new light.
