Darko is a strong forward who has the ability to play through the middle or on the wings. He is very physical, using his strength well to unsettle defenders and hold up the ball well for his teammates. He has a good technical floor including a good first touch which makes it difficult for centre-backs to take the ball off of him. His movement is good, he is constantly making smart runs ahead of the ball whether he wants to receive in the wide channels or looking to get in behind. Darko’s positioning in the box is also of good quality, constantly moving around to lose his markers and be in the right spot when the ball is delivered.

Ability: “This feedback if from coach Paulo: Darko, as you know during the Premier Division, we have been using you as a Striker (besides Winger) as part of the position rotation we had for few players in the squad. Your performances have been good, more consistent, and impactful for the team than some games when you only played as a Winger. Your self-drive, explosiveness, determination and strength bring us a good solution to the central forward position. Your two-feet shooting ability has improved this season, as well your dribbling and ball driving skills. Although, we feel that you still need improvements on when to release the ball (lay-off, receive-pass-move and 1-2 actions) which will benefit your physicality and explosiveness attributes. Off-ball movements require continues work still (you tend to ask many times the ball on your feet) and we would like to see you working behind the lines more often (along with dummy runs).”
Personality: “This feedback is from coach Paulo: Darko kept his status as a good athlete when we look at his marks and the fact that he achieved medals in all of the tests made. Although, he only ranked in the Overall Top 8 in the 40-sprint test. In all other tests he’s been ranking between 9th and 12th . Regardless, is important to mention that Darko always gives 100% effort and maximum physical engagement in games and training. When his self-driven mindset is on, Darko is very intense, aggressive and committed to on-ball, off-ball, attacking runs and defending tracking runs at his best capacity. We still think that he would have to continue to improve his overall stamina to keep consistent and efficient during most of the time possible. You are a hard-working player that likes competitive challenges, so we are sure that next season you will take this as a special hurdle to overcome.”
