Next Level U Statement

My goal as a soccer player is to be able to perform at the highest level possible, while still balancing my academic goals at university. I have been playing soccer for 10 years and have always been a very defensively-minded player. Goalkeeping has always been my passion though, which I have played for the last 5 years. I have been fortunate enough to be on a successful team and have many accomplishments, thanks to those who have supported me along the way. I have been blessed to work with many great coaches and I’m always ready to attend extra training sessions. Some of my best attributes as an athlete are:

1. Shot stopping
   • I am well known for having very good hands and being able to catch very hard shots. I am also very good at punching the ball over the bar and pushing it around the posts
2. My mindset both on and off the field
   • I am a very positive teammate and able to keep my emotions steady under pressure while staying focused on the field.
3. Willingness to train and improve on my own off the pitch.
   • I have trained with multiple amazing coaches and trainers over the years. I am a very coachable player, and always willing to ask questions when in doubt. I am a person who loves to put in the hard work and not afraid to get a little dirty. Off the pitch, I do many things to keep up my fitness. I was captain of my volleyball team at a provincial level. I now play for my high school team as a libero and co-captain. I work with a personal trainer every week and incorporate his expertise and advice into my home workouts and soccer training.
