Next Level U Statement

I am interested in extending my hockey career at least another 4 years after the completion of minor hockey at a school within Canada or the United States, while obtaining a biology or nursing degree with hopes of attending medical school.

For my final season of minor hockey (2024/25), I am committed to play for the Mississauga Hurricanes U18 AA team (in Ontario).

I am a multisport athlete. During the off-season, I played rep soccer until the age of 10 and then I transferred into girls rep field lacrosse, playing with the Hamilton Bengals until last season. My school sports consist of girls varsity hockey (centre), girls varsity field hockey (goalie) and girls varsity softball (pitcher). Last year, I was the only girl to play on the boys junior varsity hockey team. Also, last year, I was awarded Athlete of the Year for my school, and was captain on all my girls varsity teams. I am a natural leader and love the opportunity to push and encourage both myself, and my teammates, to succeed together. Sports are a huge passion for me but my love definitely lies with hockey.

Currently, I am exploring my university options and I am very interested in attending and playing hockey at your school. It offers everything I am looking for in a university. Therefore, I would like to introduce myself to you and give you some information about my athletic and academic background.

Here are a list of my strengths:

• I am a heads up player with great speed. 
• I  am strong on the faceoff and feel this is one of my biggest strengths. 
• I am very strong with positional play and always knows where to be. 
• My back-checking is really strong (one of my greatest qualities). 
• Fore-checking is also a strong part of my game. 
• I see the ice and consistently know where my line mates are. 
• I, 100% of the time, will always look for the pass. 
• I am a playmaker, work hard on the boards and never give up. 
• I use the D very effectively and will always try to make a backwards pass to them when I am in a pinch. 
• I am aware of the defence and will always cover if a defence rushes or is out of position. 
• I am good at drawing penalties, especially against bigger players and rarely receive penalties. 
• I am often complimented on my puck protection.
• Communication with my linemates.
• Most importantly, I feel that I am a team player. I take the centre position very seriously and always talk with my line mates before the game, during the game and on the ice. 
• I maintain a work out schedule.
• Outside of hockey, I am a Straight A Student
