Next Level U Statement

My name is Jade McNicol, and would like  provide an update on my hockey journey and academic aspirations. Although I am a 2025 graduate, I have made the decision to take a GAP YEAR to further develop my skills both on and off the ice.

I am excited to announce that I will be playing for the NORTH YORK STORM U22AA team during the 2025/26 season, with plans to begin university in September 2026.

My past 2 seasons:

• 2024/25 Season: Assistant Captain for the U18AA Mississauga Hurricanes
• 2023/24 Season: Assistant Captain for the Hamilton Hawks U18AA team

Throughout my hockey career, I have primarily played as a centre, a position where I feel confident and effective. However, recognizing the importance of versatility, I have embraced playing left wing this season, a role that leverages my speed and adaptability.

Academic and Athletic Aspirations:

My ambition is to attend and play university hockey, aiming to balance high-level athletics with academic excellence. I am committed to pursuing a degree in the medical field, reflecting my passion for both science and sports. Currently, I have an average of 93% and have been on the honour roll since middle school.

Additional Athletic Endeavours:

Beyond hockey, I actively participate in various sports, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to physical fitness:

• Summer Sports: Representative soccer and lacrosse.
• High School Sports: Field Hockey (Goalie), Girls’ Hockey (Team Captain), and Baseball (Team Captain).
