Next Level U Statement
Hi, my name is Layla Munoz-Bozzo. I am a grade 11 student who would love to play volleyball for a four year institution while obtaining my P. Eng designation. I am a strong student-athlete at Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy who successfully balances academics, athletics, and leadership roles.
Academically, I have maintained an overall average of over 90% throughout my three years of high school. I also completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in grades 9 and 10 which have strengthened my time management and critical thinking skills as well as my adaptability.
Athletically, I love to challenge myself through volleyball by being a competitive player and a supportive teammate. I just ended my season with Caspian Sharks 17U, and previously had been with the Wildcats Volleyball Club, where I served as team captain for two consecutive years. In both 2024 and 2025, I received the Ontario Volleyball Association Excellence Award. Additionally, I played for my high school volleyball team where I have been awarded MVP in 2025 and Most Dedicated Player in 2026.
In terms of leadership roles, I have been a Student Leader At McGivney (SLAM) for three consecutive years and I have been appointed the Charities Executive role for next year (2026-2027). Furthermore, I have worked part time as a swim instructor since 2024 at Olympian Swimming. These valuable experiences have made me a well-rounded student-athlete who brings positive energy, passionate competitiveness and an empathetic team spirit.
I look forward to meeting some great people through this fantastic opportunity!
