Next Level U Statement

Hi Coach,

I’m a Canadian golfer in the Class of 2027, and I’ve spent this year competing in a strong schedule of junior and WAGR events in Canada and the U.S. while continuing to develop my game for college golf.

This summer has been a big step forward for me. Some of my recent results include a 2nd-place finish at the MJT Major at Bond Head (WAGR), shooting 73-71-69 (-3), 2nd at the MJT Major Series at Tangle Creek, 6th at the MJT Odlum Brown Classic (WAGR), and an opening-round 70 (-2) at the AJGA Bethpage Junior, where I played in the final group on the final day.

I’ve also qualified for several championship events, including the Sergio Garcia Junior Championships in Spain, the MJT National Championship in Florida, and the HJGT National Championship at ChampionsGate.

I’m currently working closely with Tyler Marchand at Oviinbyrd Golf Club. A big part of my development this year has been using my tournament stats to understand exactly where my game is and where I can improve. The analysis has shown that from 170 yards and in, my game compares very well with Division I college benchmarks.

We’ve identified performance off the tee as the biggest opportunity in my game, so that’s where a lot of my training is focused right now. I’m confident that’s where the next big jump in my scoring will come from.

I’m using the additional development year before entering college in Fall 2027 very intentionally. I want to arrive on campus not just ready to be on a college golf team, but ready to compete for a spot in the lineup and contribute as a freshman.

Academically, I currently have a 3.7+ GPA, and finding a university where I can challenge myself both academically and athletically is very important to me.

Before focusing completely on golf, I grew up playing competitive AAA hockey. Competing at a high level from a young age helped shape the work ethic, competitiveness and discipline I bring to golf today.

I’m excited about where my game is heading and look forward to finding the right university and golf program for 2027.
