The ’27 defender shows great defensive positioning and confidence with the puck. Murphy is a poised and reliable defender who brings calm under pressure. She is a very aware defense who is always facing the play and her check. Her off-puck presence is showcased in her net front ability and the support she provides to her D partners. Murphy showed some decent soft skill, with a decent sling shot release mechanic for her shooting, and some decent puck handling. Grade: B-
