Defense
Solid instincts in all three zones. Has above average smarts and hockey IQ. Can break up opposition’s offensive plays very effectively. When she has the puck her decisions are high percentage. She does not force passes.
In the Defensive zone shows excellent gap control and body positioning in 1-on-1 situations. Closes space (sprints to attack) quickly and uses stick to take away space and separate players from the puck. Reads pressure well and supports defensive zone breakouts effectively. Does a good job being an outlet for her D- partner
When joining the rush does a good job reading the play and knowing when to choose offense over defense
Skates well with the puck and can skate the breakout when needed. Protects the house well and makes quality decisions as to whether to hold the puck or move it and where to move it to
Strong in net-front battles/Uses good body positioning more than strength to defend. Uses size effectively and consistently cleans up in front of the net to move pucks and bodies out of the way.
Very good at boxing out and disrupting screens
