Next Level U Statement

I am a motivated and driven high jump athlete who is passionate about both sport and education. I plan to compete in high jump at the university level while pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy and Health Sciences, as I believe athletics and academics work best when they support each other.

My goal as a student-athlete is to continue improving my performance in high jump while contributing positively to a strong and competitive track and field program. Competing at the collegiate level represents the next step in my long-term dream of one day reaching the Olympic stage. I am committed to putting in the work every day, whether that means training, recovery, or continuous learning, to become the best version of myself as an athlete.

Academically, I am focused on building a strong understanding of health, movement, and human performance. I am interested in how the body functions, adapts, and recovers, and I plan to use this knowledge to pursue a career in physiotherapy where I can help others improve their physical well-being. Balancing school and sport is something I take seriously, and I pride myself on being disciplined, organized, and focused in the classroom.

Leadership and community involvement are important to me. At my high school, I run high jump training sessions every Friday to help other students who share a passion for the event. Coaching and mentoring younger athletes has been a rewarding experience and has helped me grow as a leader and teammate while giving back to the sport that has given me so much.

In addition, I volunteer as a firefighter at my local fire station. This role has taught me responsibility, teamwork, and how to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations. It has strengthened my work ethic and reinforced my commitment to serving others, values that I carry with me in both academics and athletics.

I bring dedication, discipline, and a strong mindset to everything I do. I am fully committed to excelling as a student-athlete and representing my university with pride. An athletics scholarship would provide the opportunity for me to continue developing, competing at a high level, and working toward a future centered on sport, health, and helping others.
