I feel that I am still developing my style as a golfer. I am refining my game in a way that has helped me become more successful. When I was younger, I would just get up and tee it up and hit is far as possible without putting any thought into how I could achieve better scores.
All though my distance is more than adequate off the tee, I am learning that I need to see the bigger picture. I am becoming more strategic in my approach on each and every hole. I am taking into consideration weather conditions, course hazards, elevation and slope conditions as well as pin placements when I play each and every hole.
I feel this has helped improve my game in the past year or two. I also realize there is always room for improvement, and with some quality coaching and guidance I feel my potential is endless. I feel that I am very coachable and the fact that I am basically self-taught, my game would greatly improve with some top-level coaching.
Player Strengths:
I consider myself a very good wedge player. Every time I get within 50 yards that’s when I feel the most comfortable on the golf course. I also consider myself decent iron player, I have been practicing my iron play a lot these past couple of years and I think they have been coming along very well recently. I have always been able to get off the tee with better than average distance, but I feel my strongest aspect of my game is my putting.
Leadership:
Yes I have, mostly throughout my involvement in Hockey. Since 2013, I have been named a team captain, or assistant captain up until 2023.
Team History:
I have not had the opportunity to be involved in many team events. I live in an area where the only opportunity to be involved in a team atmosphere is through High School Sports, and unfortunately the pandemic played a large role in my inability to be involved at that level.
Last Year was the first year I had the opportunity to participate in regional qualifications. I was able to secure my spot on the Southeast Provincial Highschool team, shooting a 75 for second place at districts on our four-man team. At the Provincial Championships, I was able to secure a top ten individual result, but I was part of the team that finished first taking home the Provincial Championship. In my school’s history there have been only two Provincial Champions, and I am proud to be one of them.
Other Info:
I feel I have been raised to be a very hard working and respectful kid. I am very dedicated and coachable. I feel I have untapped athletic potential. I am looking forward to an opportunity to continue both my educational and athletic opportunities in the coming years.
