Next Level U Statement

My name is Stavros Argiris and I am a 16-year-old aspiring collegiate golfer from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have been playing competitive golf since I was 12 years old and have set a clear goal for myself — to earn a scholarship and compete at the collegiate/university level.

I am a dedicated athlete and student and am committed to doing whatever it takes to improve both on and off the course – as an athlete, student, and person. During the golf season, I compete regularly in junior tournaments across Canada, while working at our home golf course (Pinebrook Golf and Country Club).

In the winter, I stay sharp by training indoors with my golf coach while also playing competitive hockey. I have been fortunate to have been part of many winning hockey teams both at the city, provincial and international level, which has helped me develop mental toughness, team spirit, and discipline, which I believe are excellent skills and traits in golf.

My career aspirations include a career in business with a focus in finance. As a result, I take my academic studies seriously and aim to keep my grades strong. In addition to my regular schoolwork, I have also attended Greek language school to stay connected with my cultural roots — something that’s very important to me and my family. My Greek language studies have spanned 9 years which included the completion of the accredited Greek language program, which is a provincially legislated language program under Alberta Learning.
