Alumni Fall sports check-in

With Fall sports in full swing across the variety of collegiate leagues across Canada and the United States, our Next Level U Sports athletes are making some major impacts at some major programs. On this installment of THE BLOG, we will be highlighting some of the early successes from our Fall alumni competing!

Kaylee Bruce – Women’s Soccer – East Central University

Cambridge, Ontario native Kaylee Bruce is off to a great start for the Tigers of East Central University. The junior has netted four goals in her campaign so far, a start that was good enough to earn her the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after her performance in ECU’s come-from-behind 3-2 win against Southern Nazarene on Sept. 16.

Francesca Primomo – Women’s Field Hockey – St. Francis University

Francesca Primomo has made a nice impact for the Red Flashes of St. Francis University this season. The Caledon, Ontario product has appeared in seven contests this season, playing a season high 25 minutes in a 3-2 win at Drexel. Primomo came up clutch for her squad in their first win of the season as she scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win against Holy Cross.

Janelle Ward – Women’s Field Hockey – Saint Joseph’s University

The Saint Joseph’s women’s field hockey team is off to a great start this year and NLU alumni Janelle Ward has made a nice impact for the team. Appearing in four games for the number eleven nationally ranked Eagles, Ward has registered two wins while playing a season high 45 minutes in a 5-2 victory at Drexel.

Jared Scarlett – Men’s Soccer – University of Pittsburgh at Bradford

Windsor, Ontario native Jared Scarlett has made the most of his opportunities to start the year. The junior has started three matches for the Panthers, recording a victory while stopping forty-eight shots! Scarlett was named Defensive Player of the Week by the AMCC after he made twenty-one saves as Pitt-Bradford picked up their first victory of the season, defeating Thiel 2-1.

Zach McPhee – Track & Field – University of Arkansas at Little Rock

In his first season with the Trojans of Arkansas at Little Rock, Zach McPhee has continued his success that he saw at the JUCO level. The Stratford, Ontario native finished 11th overall after competing in a variety of events as Little Rock’s men posted a third-place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational.
