The Next Level U Sports x Guelph Jr Gryphons Volleyball Combine was a great success this past weekend at RIM Park in Waterloo, Ontario. The event hosted over 50 high school aged girls from across the province over the two-day event. The excellent coaching lineup with representatives from Centennial College, University of Guelph, and University of Waterloo put on an excellent combine alongside our Next Level U Sports staff.
Each day began with an excellent warmup and instructional session from our partners at PHYSELITE. Coach Asa ran an excellent program each day for the participants, alongside the fantastic sport medicine and therapy staff of Coach Julian and Coach Jen.
Day one consisted of testing, positional work, and team drills. All participants had a chance to showcase their athleticism through our variety of metric testing drills as well as learn and compete in the high-level drills ran by our collegiate coaching staff.
Day two was gameday at our event! The participants were split into six teams, and each competed against one another throughout the day. The energy and atmosphere throughout the gym was incredible all day. The gameday portion of the combine was recorded and live streamed to coaches and viewers across Canada and the United States. Over the course of the day we had over 500 viewers across all three courts!
We had a number of fantastic performers over the course of the weekend but two stood out amongst all of the participants and took home the combine MVP Awards
