The month of March was filled with accomplishments for our student-athletes. With many leagues in full swing, many of our NLU alumni have been in action and have been making an impact! Back here on Canadian soil, we have continued our success on the recruitment front with a number of new commitments for the class of 2021! In this week’s post on THE BLOG, we will highlight some of the great successes of our student athletes that occurred this past month!
Alumni In Action
Seanan Main – Western Illinois University Men’s Soccer
Seanan Main is continuing to have a breakout year for the Leatherbacks of Western Illinois! The second-year goalkeeper was outstanding in Western Illinois’ double header win against #18 Oral Roberts, earning his first two career shutouts in the process! The now two time Summit League Defensive Player of the Week recipient racked up 16 saves in 4 starts in the month of March!
McKenna Kelly – Charleston Women’s Softball
Kelly continues to make an impact for the Cougars! McKenna made five appearances in the month of March, spending 2.2 innings on the mound while pinch running in 3 games!
Coltan Fountain – Cleary University Men’s Baseball
Colton Fountain continues to lead the way for the Cougars. Fountain recorded 17 hits, 3 RBI’s, and 3 runs in the month of March. Colton has also been a steady presence behind the plate making an appearance for Cleary in 14 games this past month!
Kaylee Bruce & Dylan Varty-Wright – East Central University Women’s Soccer
Both Bruce and Varty-Wright have been key contributors in the Tigers late surge before their playoff push. Kaylee had a fantastic month of March recording 2 goals, 1 assist, and 11 shots through 6 games while Dylan was a fantastic contributor off the bench making a substitute appearance in every game this past month!
Eva D’Andrea – West Liberty University Women’s Soccer
D’Andrea continues to bring a solid presence off of the bench for the Hilltoppers. Eva appeared in all 3 games this month for West Liberty!
Thomasz Karauda – Iowa Wesleyan University Men’s Soccer
Karauda has had an excellent start to the season for the Tigers! Earning the start in 2 of his 4 appearances in the month, Thomasz recorded 2 shots and scored his first goal against Eureka College on March 13th!
Kathryn Hoeger – Davenport University Women’s Soccer
Hoeger has made the most of her opportunities to start the year for the Panthers! Starting in both her appearances this month, Kathryn was able to register 2 shots and scored her first goal for Davenport against Purdue Northwest on March 26th!
