Spring Alumni Success!

With the spring collegiate sport seasons in full swing, many of our talented NLU student athletes have had great starts to their campaigns. On this installment of THE BLOG, we will look at and highlight some of the spring successes so far for some of our outstanding NLU student athletes.

Alex Camillo – Men’s Baseball – Holy Family University

Alex made a number of appearances for the Tigers of Holy Family University this spring! Alex batted .300 this spring and also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. A Cambridge, Ontario native, Alex has made a nice impact for his squad this spring!

Grace Mummery – Women’s Softball – Wheeling University

First year student athlete Grace Mummery has already made an influence on the diamond for Wheeling University. Mummery has appeared in 22 games for the Cardinals, starting 21 of them. The Port Dover, Ontario player has a fielding percentage above .900 from behind home plate!

McKenna Kelly – Women’s Softball – College of Charleston

Senior McKenna Kelly has saved her best year for last on the mound for the College of Charleston this spring. Kelly, a Guelph native has posted her lowest ERA of her career this spring, picking up a number of key wins in the process. Kelly also has posted career highs in strikeouts, opponent batting average and appearances.

Matthew Lyons – Men’s Golf – Longwood University

Matthew Lyons is off to a great start in his freshman season at Longwood University. Lyons has posted a number of good rounds; however, his most recognized achievement of the campaign was his first tournament win at the Manor Invite where he shot 68-70 to bring home the individual title. The Aurora, Ontario player also was named Big South Conference Freshman of the week this season.

Madeline Boyd – Women’s Golf – Ball State University

Madeline Boyd has had a great start to her spring campaign at Ball State University this spring. The sophomore from Oshawa, Ontario has had a number of great finishes including leading her team and placing in the top 15 at the Puerto Rico Classic, shaving 6 strokes off her collegiate low tournament score in the process!
